We are a very short distance from GERNICA, in the kanpantxu neighborhood of AJANGIZ, a municipality that belongs to the province of Bizkaia of the Basque Country, in the heart of URDAIBAI .
URDAIBAI is a biosphere reserve, a unique place in the world for its combination of nature, culture and tradition. It is an estuary formed by the Oka River and the Cantabrian Sea, where you will find forests, marshes, beaches, cliffs and mountains, exuberant nature.
Its strategic location means that it was populated many hundreds of years ago, which gives it a long history and a very rich cultural heritage. Here you can find medieval towns, archaeological sites, hermitages, and even prehistoric caves.
From our house, you can explore the region by car, or if you prefer, you can reach Gernika walking in less than 15 minutes. Gernika is connected to the rest of the municipalities in the region by public TRANSPORT, with a very regular schedule and very affordable price

The route of the CAMINO DE SANTIAGO that passes through our municipality, Ajangiz, is the COASTAL ROUTE.
This route is one of the most popular on the Camino de Santiago, as it offers spectacular views of the Basque coast.
The route begins in San Sebastián and ends in Santiago de Compostela. Ajangiz, our municipality, is located at the end of stage 22 and the beginning of stage 23, the midpoint between Markina and Bermeo. Which makes our house located in the perfect point for you to rest after the long walk (11.7 kilometers from Markina). In our house you will find a quiet and relaxing environment where, especially if you are one of the walkers, we invite you to rest those feet that have worked so hard on our REFELEXOLOGY path, exclusive for our clients and combine it with the “Care” pack. of your feet” that we offer. If you are an ANIMAL LOVER Urdaibai is an ideal destination for you. This protected natural area is home to a great diversity of fauna, both marine and terrestrial. In this aspect, one of the greatest attractions is WELL WATCHING in the waters of the Bay of Bizkaia, you can see dolphins, whales, orcas and other cetaceans. And BIRD WATCHING, since Urdaibai is an important refuge for migratory birds.
In its forests, marshes and beaches you can see more than 300 species of birds, such as the osprey, the peregrine falcon, the cormorant and the yellow-legged gull.
BASONDO is also an attraction that you should not miss if you are an animal lover. It is a refuge for our wildlife, which has 60,000 m2 of meadows and forests where you can see roe deer, wild boar, deer, fallow deer, genets, badgers and wild cats.
